Yuletide Toffee Squares

I don't think I remember Mother ever making these, but due to the season and them sounding so good, I thought I would share. So......if you try them, you have to let me know how they are.

Yuletide Toffee Squares:

4 1/2 cups oats

1 cup brown sugar

3/4 cup melted oleo

1/2 cup corn syrup

1 tablespoon vanilla

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 - 12 oz. package Nestle's chocolate chips

2/3 cup chopped nuts

Grease 15 x 10 x 1 jelly roll pan. Combine all but chocolate chips and nuts and firmly press into bottom of pan. Bake 18 minutes at 400 until brown and bubbly. Remove and immediately sprinkle with chocolate chips. Let stand 10 minutes. Spread melted chocolate evenly over top and sprinkle with nuts. Cool completely and cut.
