Grasshopper Pie

This was another favorite (Especially my sister-in-law Regina and niece Holley) at Christmas. I guess I never realized that Mother always had EVERYBODY'S favorite. No wonder we had so much food for Christmas dinner (we all had DIFFERENT favorites)!! This recipe tells its age with certain words (Hydrox cookies??? and pie TIN...I still don't know what Hydrox cookies are..thank goodness Oreo came out with a chocolate crust).

Grasshopper Pie:

Melt 2 tablespoons butter. Stir in 14 crushed Hydrox cookies. Press mixture into 8" pie tin as crust for pie. Melt 24 large marshmallows in 1/2 cup milk. Stir in 4 tablespoons green creme de menthe and 2 tablespoons white creme de cocoa. Let mixture cool. Fold in 1 cup whipped cream (or one package dream whip, whipped). Pour into pie shell. Sprinkle a few crumbs from crust over top of pie. Place in freezer until forzen. Serve frozen.
